NTDC installs 600MVA Auto Transformer Bank at Sahiwal Grid Station

National Transmission & Despatch Company installed and commissioned new 600MVA Auto Transformer Bank at 500kV Grid Station Yousafwala (Sahiwal)

At the inauguration ceremony, Managing Director NTDC, Dr. Khawaja Riffat Hassan said that installation of new Transformer has enhanced the capacity of the Grid Station to transmit 1,800 MVA at 500kV level.

He said this installation of new transformer will improve the power supply to different areas of MEPCO region, these areas include Sahiwal, Chichawatni, Kassowal, Pakpattan, Arifwala, Vehari, Chishtian. Moreover various areas of LESCO and FESCO will also get better supply as a result of installation of this new transformer.

Increasing demand of electricity has overloaded existing transformers in NTDC, MD NTDC said. Installation of work of new Transformers is on going on emergent basis at 220kV Grid Station Gakkhar and 500kV Grid Station Rawat to facilitate areas coming under GEPCO and IESCO for better smooth supply.
